Pay Equity Commission

In 1987, the Government of Ontario brought in pay equity legislation that saw the formation of the Pay Equity Commission with a mandate to effectively enforce and administer the Pay Equity Act. The Pay Equity Commission fulfills this mandate through reporting, public education & awareness, and monitoring compliance.

With the changes in the landscape of “women and work” and the growing profile of issues relating to this, the Pay Equity Commission approached Outreach in 2014 to do an audit of its communications in support of its strategic planning process. The audit included a detailed environmental scan, key message review, stakeholder and media analyses, and recommendations for how communications might proactively support the organizational strategic plan going forward.

Outreach also supported the Pay Equity Commission in developing plans, coordinating events, and developing messaging and products for Equal Pay Day and International Women’s Day.
